Jasmine’s educational journey within Lionheart Educational Trust began at Sir Jonathan North, where her passion for literature flourished thanks to inspiring English teaching and a supportive environment. Jasmine’s passion for literature was nurtured at Sir Jonathan North, where she received high-quality, engaging lessons. Jasmine reflected: “The support and enthusiasm demonstrated by my English teachers impacted me as I also adopted this enthusiasm which was reflected in my end GCSE results – in both English and across my subjects.”

Continuity and Growth at Beauchamp City Sixth Form
Choosing to remain within the Lionheart Educational Trust, Jasmine transitioned to Leicester’s Beauchamp City Sixth Form College, meaning she entered a familiar culture of high expectations and strong support. At A-level, she studied English Literature, Sociology, and Biology, and benefited from a well-rounded support system that addressed both academic and wellbeing needs. “My transition to sixth form came with several learning points, such as adapting from a single sex school and adapting my learning strategies given the switch from GCSE to A-level,” said Jasmine.
The student support services team helped her transition to sixth form study, and manage stress and workload, especially during exam periods.
Opportunities That Made a Difference
One of the standout advantages of studying within the Lionheart Trust was the access to enriching extracurricular opportunities. At Beauchamp City, Jasmine took part in activities that strengthened her university application and helped her stand out as a candidate for UCL. In addition, it was the consistent quality of teaching, resources, and guidance across both institutions gave her the confidence and tools to succeed and be ambitious in her future goals.
Reflection: A 7-year Lionheart journey
Jasmine believes that staying within the Lionheart Educational Trust was one of the best decisions she made. The shared values, high standards, and supportive culture across both schools created a clear pathway to success. By actively engaging with the resources available—such as career talks and academic support—she maximised her potential and achieved her goals. Jasmine said: “These are the resources that enabled my academic success and allowed me to stand out, which is something any Lionheart student can achieve.”
