Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Sir Jonathan North Girls' College are deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty The Queen. 

Her dedication to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and to her other realms and territories is unparalleled and we thank her for her service. 

We will observe the mourning period but continue to support students, families, and staff, as schools remain open in line with guidance from the Department for Education (DfE). Unless otherwise stated, please assume any scheduled activities and events will continue as planned. 

Following guidance received from the Department for Education regarding HRH Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral, Sir Jonathan North Girls' College will be closed on Monday 19th September 2022. 

The school closure, on what has been declared a bank holiday across the UK, will allow both students and staff to pay their respects to Her Majesty while marking the final day of mourning. 

School will re-open as normal on Tuesday 20th September. 

May her legacy continue to inspire our young people and future generations.
