Little Shop of Horrors

Our students recently wowed audiences with their spectacular performance of the "Little Shop of Horrors." With 38 talented students from years 8 to 10 participating in the show, the production showcased the exceptional dedication and creativity of the expressive arts department.

Since September 2022, our students have poured their hearts and souls into perfecting their roles for the production. Countless hours of rehearsals, led by the expressive arts team, allowed our students to develop their acting, dancing, and musical talents.

"Little Shop of Horrors," is a story of an alien plant's insidious desire to conquer the world. The plant, which speaks and devours unsuspecting individuals, including three members of the cast, provided a thrilling twist to the performance.

The success of the show was not only limited to the exceptional acting skills on display. The expressive arts team and Mr. McKinlay from the art department, created a stunning set, including the magnificent alien plant. The impressive plant creation served as a testament to the dedication and talent of the students and staff involved in the production.

Two evening shows at the Judgemeadow Theatre were met with resounding applause and standing ovations from the audience. The performances exceeded all expectations, showcasing the exceptional talent and hard work of the students involved. The energy and enthusiasm displayed were a testament to their commitment to the production.

We couldn't be prouder of the students' achievements. Their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence were evident in every aspect of the production. Throughout the performance, the students embodied the core values of SJNGC, known as the "4 Rs": resilience, resourcefulness, respect, and responsibility.
