Othello Curve Trip

Last month our Year 10 and 11 students visited the Curve Theatre to watch Othello, as part of their GCSE drama and BTEC performing arts courses.

Frantic Assembly, an established theatre company, performed its award-winning take on the traditional script of Shakespeare’s Othello but modernised it through the use of costumes, locations, style and characters.

As part of their live theatre review exam, within the GCSE drama curriculum, our students study Frantic Assembly and have been learning about their physical theatre style in lessons. Last year they attended a workshop by this same company, so the opportunity to watch them live at the curve linked to their studies perfectly.

For some students, this was their first experience of going to the theatre and watching a professional company. We are really proud of our students on the trip, they were great ambassadors for the school.
