Sir Jonathan North Girls' College Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Results

Sir Jonathan North Girls' College is delighted to announce another year of success as our students collected their GCSE results. 

An impressive 79% of our students attained grade 4 and above in all subjects, with five students achieving a clean sweep of grade 9s and 8s, an amazing accomplishment that reflects their hard work. 

We are thrilled to see a superb collection of grades for English Literature this year, with thanks to our English faculty who worked hard all year, supporting our cohort with study sessions and revision tips. 

It wasn't just in English Literature that we saw great results, student achievement of grade 9-7 in English Language, Maths, Film Studies, Textiles, Chemistry, Drama, Art, Music, PE, History, and Combined Science not only surpassed the national average but also outperformed the national average for girls. 

Additional headline data includes: 

• 43% of our students achieved at least one grade 9 or grade 8. 
• 10% of our students maintained an average of grade 8 across their subjects. 
• An impressive 64% of our students achieved at least a grade 5 or higher.

Sir Jonathan North's Progress 8 score for 2023 is an impressive +0.55, which is +0.12 higher than in the previous year. This score reflects our commitment to nurturing student progress and achievement. 

Principal Rose Angus expressed her pride in these achievements, stating, "Another strong set of results! The governors and I are so very proud of our students' achievements, their resilience, dedication, and investment in their studies. We would like to thank their parents for their continued support alongside our incredible staff, who work selflessly to ensure our students are able to successfully move on to their chosen next step."
